Lets restart and refocus

Fr.o.m. Tomorrow Monday I will restart writing here. I’ll also start a 90-day focus program regarding training and fitness. I’ll start this program off with 10 days VLC-diet. Lets see how that pans out.

Training on the 5th July, 2010

Bike 15km

First bike session after Vätternrundan. Left calf still a bit sore, but otherwise felt ok.

See session details on TrainingPeaks

Training April 29: Swim 1 hrs (Heart rate zone 2)

frontcrawlswimmingBoring swim for almost an hour. Took 52 minutes to complete 2 km at a slow pace with some resting in between. But swimming simpy is sooo boring. Need to work on the speed a little bit as well. And no, it’s not me in the picture! :-)

Training April 7: Swim 1 hrs (Heart rate zone 2)

Training April 5: Bike 1 hrs (Heart rate zone 2)

Training Monday 15 March: Strength + 45 minutes run

Training Sunday: 1hr bike (cadence over 90)

Did a one hour bike sesion (on a trainer) with the target of keeping heart rate below 150 and cadence over 90. Felt good. Some soreness in the leg muscles.

Training Saturday 13 March - 1,6km swim (45 minutes)

The crawl training is comming along. Today did 1,6 km (while keeping an eye on the kids which meant that I couldn’t go full out). Felt good. Timining the breathing is becoming more natural.

The Road to Norseman

forsidebanner_2010Some months ago my friend Peter and I started talking about doing a Triathlon. The background is that we booth did the Vasaloppet and Lidingöloppet last year and we started tossing ideas around about where to go from there. Some background on myself. I have trained and done sports (like fotball) on and off all my life, but I’m not what you would call a fit guy. I did Vasaloppet last year in 10.49 hrs and Lidingöloppet (30 km x-country running) in 3:40 hrs,  I weigh too much (100+ kgs) etc. The idea that finally stuck was the absolutely insane idea of next year (2011) doing the Norseman Extreme Triathlon. The hardest triathlon in the world. Hardly something you can joke away. Anything less than a super-serious commitment will mean total pain and disaster. So in these pages I’ll try to track my journey.

Final count down to Vasaloppet

malrakan-vasaloppetJust a couple of days to go. As always, I whish I had trained more and harder, and having one broken hand and one cold in the months running up to the race seems less than optimal. A realistic target is to go under 10 hrs, so we’ll see how that goes. If you want to track my progress you can do it here.

My start numer is 10489
